For 2026 we visit the eastern side of England, visiting the county of Suffolk, which offers beautiful countryside and quaint villages.
For 2026 we visit the Eastern side of England visiting the county of Suffolk, offering beautiful countryside and quaint villages. We include excursions to the picturesque village of Lavenham with its timber framed buildings and a cruise along the waters of the River Deben.
Day 1
We join our coach and travel through the English countryside to Essex with a lunch stop on the way, before we arrive at the hotel for our evening meal.
DDay 2
Today we join the coach and our guide to travel to the locations included in the Suffolk Villages guided tour which include their pastel-coloured towns and villages whose timber-framed roofs making this area unique. We visit Sudbury home to Gainsborough's attractive townhouse which is now a museum. We continue to Long Melford and Lavenham where we visit their Guildhall a National trust Property at 3pm which contains an exhibiton of local history. The guide will make suitable lunch and comfort stops during the day and these are not included in today's outing.
B, DDay 3
After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the pretty coastal village of Aldeburgh, with its beach dotted with Fishermen's Huts and a charming historic high street. In the afternoon we travel to Mutford Lock where we board our boat for a delightful cruise along the calm waters of the River Waveney offering panoramic views over the Broadland Landscape with its various birds and wildlife whilst enjoying tea/coffee and biscuits.
B, DDay 4
Today we join the coach and our guide to travel to the locations connected with the painter Constable. We first travel to East Bergholt and then continue to Flatford, home to the 18th century mill made famous in his paintings followed by the delightful village of Dedham before returning to Lavenham and our visit to the National Trust property of Lavenham Guildhall. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel.
B, DDay 5
This morning we depart from the hotel and Essex and travel back to your joining point with a lunch stop enroute.

This three star hotel is set in the village of Marks Tey close to Colchester. The hotels facilities include an indoor pool, a steam room and Spa, bat and restaurant. The bedrooms are all ensuite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities and served by a lift.
Please Note: All bedrooms have a shower over the bath, and the hotel has some ground floor rooms.
