Today after breakfast we join our coach and take the ferry across the Shannon Estuary to Listowel where we experience the unusual recreation of the 1888 Lartigue Monorail train. It is a unique form of rail travel and we enjoy a brief demonstration before taking a short journey or you may like to watch a film in its museum. Next we travel on to the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum where we see the world's only full size B314 replica flying boat from 1937-1945. You will sit in an authentic 1940's cinema learning about the flying boat history and transatlantic air travel. After an interesting day we travel back to Ennis and our hotel.

Day 4

After breakfast we join our coach and begin our journey, travelling via Tipperary and the Rock of Cashel to the village of Kilmeaden. Here we enjoy a trip on the Waterford Suir Valley Railway, and take in the wonderful panoramic views of the River Suir and the Mount Congreve Gardens. This is an area rich in history and is only accessible by train. Afterwards we rejoin our coach and continue to Waterford and our next hotel.

After a leisurely breakfast we join our guide for a witty and entertaining one hour walking tour of Ireland's oldest city. It includes two cathedrals and four national monuments. Afterwards we travel to the town of New Ross and the Dunbrody Famine Ship. This is an authentic reproduction of an 1840's emigrant vessel offering an insight into the bravery and fortitude of the Irish people facing up to a desperate situation.
