Enjoy a change of scenery exploring the history of the county of Kent.

This tour visits the county of Kent which offers an abundance of history and intrigue set in beautiful settings. We include visits to Hever Castle and Leeds Castle showing their histories and various gardens, a charming boat trip along the River Stour in the historic city of Canterbury.

Day 1

This morning we depart from your joining points and travel across the country with a lunch stop enroute before we arrive at our hotel in time to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2

After a leisurely breakfast today we join our coach and travel to Leeds castle near Maidstone, set in a stunning location on two lakeside islands. The castle was a Norman stronghold, a royal residence and a royal palace! We learn of its enigmatic history and visit the Princess Alexandra Gardens and Terraces. After an enjoyable day we travel back to our hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast we join the coach and travel to Canterbury where we begin first by enjoying a 45 minute cruise along the River Stour before continuing our visit with time in the centre of this historic city to explore by wandering its ancient streets. Later in the day we rejoin our coach back to our hotel for our evening meal.

Day 4

After breakfast today we travel to the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Hever Castle. The castle overs over 700 years of history with its splendid rooms and award winning gardens making it a memorable visit. Time permitting on our return we will stop in the town of Rochester famous for its links to Charles Dickens and its attractions such as Restoration House and the Guildhall Museum. Afterwards we return to our hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast we say farewell to our hotel and Kent and return back to your joining point with a lunch stop en-route.

Hotel Details: Bridgewood Manor Hotel, Chatham

This four star hotel designed around an inner courtyard is located close to Rochester. The hotel offers a Bar and restaurant along with a well-equipped health club including a swimming pool and Sauna. The bedrooms are all ensuite with bath and shower, hairdryer, television and tea/coffee making facilities and are served by a lift.

Please Note: Some facilities at the Health Club cost extra and must be paid directly to the hotel.
