Day 1
We leave from your joining points and travel towards Hampshire with a lunch stop en route before arriving at our hotel in time for our evening meal.
DDay 2
After breakfast we travel to Jane Austen house near Alton. This is where she lived for the last eight years of her life and where she wrote "Mansfield Park", "Emma" and "Persuasion". Afterwards we travel, the short journey to Mid Hants Railway known - affectionately as the "Watercress Line",where we enjoy a journey through picturesque countryside.
B, DDay 3
Today after breakfast we travel to the seaside resort of Southsea and its D Day story museum. The museum was opened in 1984 by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and it tells the story of operation overlord during the Normandy D Day landings. In the afternoon we travel the short distance to Old Portsmouth, where we visit the Spinakker tower and take the high speed lift up 100 metres to the viewing platform. Here you will experience the south coast's most spectacular view and enjoy a high tea with a selection of sandwiches, sweet treats and tea or coffee. On our return to terra firma we join the coach for the journey back to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
Today after breakfast we travel to one of Europe's best known prehistoric monuments - Stonehenge. Although not in Hampshire but in neighbouring county of Wiltshire. We include admission to its new visitor centre which will give you an insight into the stones. After our visit we travel back into Hampshire and its Milestone Living History Museum. Inside the museum there is a recreated a Victorian town with cobbled streets, village green, pub, costumed characters and a large collection of commercial vehicles.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast we leave Hampshire and our hotel and make our journey home, arriving back late afternoon.
