A chance to see this must see show and be prepared to be spellbound!
This new short break holiday offers a chance to see this must see show and be prepared to be spellbound. Set in an outdoor theatre on a seven and a half acre stage, a 1000 cast and crew immerse you in telling this 2000 year tale: The history of England. It brings to life the story of invasions, Royal splendour, wars and daily life with dazzling pyrotechnics, beautiful choreography, amazing stunts and wonderful horsemanship, combined with an inspired soundtrack it leaves audiences awestruck.
Day 1
We join our coach early this morning and travel north with a lunch break in the Peak District town of Bakewell, before continuing to our hotel and the evening meal.
DDay 2
After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the historic city of Durham which is set by the river and overlooked by the Cathedral and Castle (entrance not included) offering over 900 years of history. We return to the hotel for an early dinner before heading to the Kynren set in Bishop Auckland's Castle grounds. This is an outdoor show so it is important that passengers bring appropriate clothing for the weather.
B, DDay 3
Today after a leisurely breakfast we travel to the nearby city of Newcastle upon Tyne and enjoy some free time in this city. Perhaps you could explore the Quayside and take a river cruise along the River Tyne (not included) or visit the city centre which is not far away with its shops and places to visit.
B, DDay 4
We say farewell to County Durham and our hotel after breakfast this morning and travel back to your joining point with a lunch stop en route.
Please Note
The show is an outdoor show so it is important that you bring appropriate clothing for the weather and possibly a blanket. The organisers advise the show will go on whatever the weather. Umbrellas are not allowed in the arena, but waterproof ponchos can be purchased on site. The show tickets are in the Superior category which are in tiered plastic seats in the grandstand which are not under cover. None of the arena has any undercover areas and there is no interval. Food and drink can be purchased using contactless cards.
There is at least a fifteen minute walk between the coach and the arena.
