This holiday visits the popular Yorkshire Spa town with excursions to Harewood House, a visit to RHS Harlow Carr and a train journey on the Wensleydale railway.

Another popular destination with our clients is Harrogate. This spa town in Yorkshire makes an ideal base to explore the scenery and attractions of the area. We include visits to the award winning RHS garden at Harlow Carr, the famous Harewood House and we take a ride on the Wensleydale Railway.

 

Day 1

We join our coach and travel to the town of Harrogate, with a convenient lunch stop on the way, arriving at our hotel in time for our evening meal.

Day 2

After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the small town of Thirsk, famous for its connection to the television programme "All Creatures Great and Small". Afterwards we travel to Leeming Bar, where we join our train for an afternoon ride along the heritage Wensleydale Railway. The line is predominantly a heritage diesel service, travelling through picturesque countryside to the Dales village of Leyburn. Afterwards we continue our journey back to our hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast the morning is free before we join the coach for the short journey to the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr. This famous garden is located on the outskirts of Harrogate and covers 58 acres which we give you time to explore. It includes a streamside garden and an extensive kitchen garden and is one of the most innovative gardens.

Day 4

Today after the breakfast we join the coach for the short journey to nearby Harewood House. It houses an impressive art collection, exquisite Chippendale furniture and renaissance masterpieces. The house is set in 100 acres of award winning gardens with some of the grounds designed by Capability Brown. It really does offer something for everyone.

Day 5

After breakfast we say goodbye to our hotel and Harrogate and return to your joining point.

Hotel Details: Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate

This traditional three star hotel is set in the popular spa town of Harrogate and is well known for being the hiding place of author Agatha Christie in 1926.

Its facilities include a restaurant, bar and lounge, in five acres of grounds. There is a lift that serves the bedrooms which are all en suite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Please note: The bedrooms have showers over the bath.
