Ireland - The Ulster Explorer

Discover the beauty of the Ulster region and take in the great scenery of the Giants Causeway, Visit the Titanic Museum in Belfast and enjoy a cream tea at Hillsborough Castle.

From our base in County Antrim located on the Causeway Coast we can visit some varied attractions such as the UNESCO World heritage site which is the Giants Causeway, experience the rare opportunity of taking tea in Hillsborough Castle, travel along the delightful Antrim Coast road and visit Carrickfergus Castle and the city of Belfast with its Titanic Museum.

Day 1

We join our coach for the journey to the Irish Sea port of Holyhead and catch our ferry to Ireland. On our arrival we continue to our hotel in Bray for our overnight stay and evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast today we travel through Ireland and into Northern Ireland with a convenient stop during the journey before we arrive at our hotel in Belfast for the next four nights.

Day 3

After breakfast today we travel to Belfast City Hall, where we meet our guide for a two and a half hour tour which is a perfect introduction to the history and heritage of Belfast. In the afternoon we continue to the Titanic Belfast Museum which has been built recently to house the ship's remarkable history. After a day of learning we travel back to our hotel.

Day 4

Today after breakfast we join our coach and travel along the scenic Antrim Coast road to the UNESCO Heritage Site of the Giant's Causeway. We include admission to its Visitor Experience and use of the outside audio guide. If you wish to travel on the bus to the main Causeway Rock there is now a fare to be paid locally. Afterwards we rejoin the coach and travel back through the Irish countryside to our hotel.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast we travel to Hillsborough Castle. On our arrival we are met and enjoy a guided tour of the Castle which includes the elegant throne room. You may wish to visit its gardens before sitting down to morning tea and scones served in one of its staterooms. The town of Hillsborough is known for its Georgian architecture and its visitor centre which has an original courtroom exhibit. After an informative day we travel back to our hotel in Belfast.

Day 6

After our breakfast this morning we say goodbye to our hotel and Northern Ireland and drive into the Republic of Ireland to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of Dublin. The hotel will provide an evening meal.

Day 7

This morning after a very early breakfast at the hotel we travel to join the ferry from Dublin to Holyhead. We also include breakfast on board the ferry. On our arrival we continue our journey back to your joining point, with a stop en route.

Overnight Hotel Outbound: Wilton Hotel, Bray, County Wicklow

This is a three star hotel located in the town of Bray and its facilities include a restaurant and Bar with a lift serving the rooms. The bedrooms are all en suite and served by a lift. All the bedrooms have showers over the bath.

 

Main Stay Hotel: The Stormont Hotel, Belfast

This four star hotel is located on the eastern side of Belfast close to their Parliament Building and has a regular bus service in and out of the city centre. The hotel’s facilities include a restaurant, bar and lounge. All the bedrooms are served by a lift and are en suite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

 

Overnight Hotel: The Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan, County Dublin

This is a four star hotel and has a restaurant and bar and the bedrooms are en suite with television and tea/coffee making facilities.
